DescriptionChiltepin Texas is a wild cultivar collected from Wimberley, Texas — one of the hardiest and earliest-producing chiltepins available. These tiny, round "bird peppers" deliver a sharp, searing heat that fades quickly, followed by a rich, smoky, slightly nutty flavor.

Although originating in Texas, it's also a great chiltepin for northern gardens with its earlier maturity. Excellent crushed over soups, stews, eggs, and Mexican dishes. Traditionally sun-dried and stored whole.
