And goodbye to the growing season of 2009 - geesh what a year. So many folks had growing issues during the summer, us included. Too cool and wet in the eastern half of the country, too hot and dry in the south and midwest. Lots of plants and people struggled. Productivity suffered. Many plants performed poorly compared to previous years. It was the worst growing season that we can remember. Our Fresh Chile harvest was delayed and way below expected. This is one of the breaks of having to base your livelihood on Mother Nature. She does not always play fair. But we do our best, and grow on.
