DescriptionSan Marzano Redorta is a larger cousin of the classic San Marzano, hailing from the Tuscany region of Italy and named for a mountain in Bergamo. These meaty, elongated plum tomatoes have low acidity and a sweet, concentrated tomato flavor perfect for sauce.

Ideal for marinara, canning, slow-roasting, and making tomato paste. Produces larger fruits than the standard San Marzano with the same excellent sauce-making qualities. A top pick for Italian cooking enthusiasts.

The best sauce tomato ever!

Plants thrive, grow tall and produce large fruit. Much bigger fruit than any pear type. Some of the fruit get as big as an apple. Very firm full of pulp with little seeds and water. I’m getting better each year at growing them. I prune them early and often. I train them on heavy twine hanging from a trellis frame. Some grow over seven feet.
I make my own fertilizer for calcium, phosphorus, potassium and nitrogen and supplement with quality organic packaged products. I water with rain water mostly from a rain barrel or whatever falls from the sky.
