Super Hot Peppers
We offer 19 varieties of Super Hot Peppers, as Pepper Plants, Pepper Seeds and Fresh Peppers.
Super Hot peppers rate approximately 1 million heat units on the Scoville scale, which is a measurement of the pungency of peppers. These are the hottest peppers in the world.
Smokin' Ed's Carolina Reaper
now holds the title of Hottest Pepper. Prior contenders are
Moruga Scorpion
,
Trinidad Scorpion Butch T
, and
Ghost Pepper Bhut Jolokia
.
Some super hot peppers are varieties that have been collected throught the Caribbean, but many have been created by selective breeding. These super hots are newer varieties that were bred, chosen and developed, but have not been around for too many years. Because of this, super hots may produce slight variations from the original strain. There is conflicting information on how many generations a pepper must be grown out to become stable, which also varies by variety, but the more grow out years the better.
Please have common sense when using super hot peppers, especially around children and others who are not familar with or suited for their extreme spiciness. Dairy products like milk, yogurt or ice cream, and starches like banana, bread or crackers, will help calm the burn.
